In 2005, three attorneys at law practising in a top worldwide law firm decided to take responsibility into their own hands dedicating all their enthusiasm, verve and expert erudition to a joint project, which soon became known as PKK. Reinforced by the fourth of the partners in the following year, PKK has been operating in the same structure since then. In the area of mergers and acquisitions, we provide our clients with comprehensive legal advisory throughout the complete merger or acquisition process, starting with legal advisory in structuring the transaction through performing due diligence, preparing all contractual and related legal documentation, negotiating the transaction and ensuring all necessary regulatory requirements up to ensuring the registration of the transaction in the Commercial Register and other pertinent records.
We provide comprehensive legal services for setting up companies, their daily operations and their dissolving. We offer legal assistance in resolving any issues related to corporate structure and management (corporate governance), including the preparation and managing of general meetings, appointments and dismissals of boards members and the concluding of management contracts.
In the area of law of contracts we provide services in the preparation, drafting and negotiation of new and revisions of existing contracts. We provide our clients with services consisting in the control of their existing contracts and professionally evaluating the potential risks. In connection with real estate, we offer the drafting of purchase and donation contracts for real estates, including other tasks associated with the real estate (applications for entering a record in the Land Registry, erasures of easements, etc.). Augustin Kohoutek is an attorney at law registered at the Czech Bar Association. He finished the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University in Brno in 1999. He also completed a one-year study of international trade at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. In 2000 -2005 he worked in the Prague office of the international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Augustin Kohoutek specialises in mergers and acquisitions law, competition law and law of information technology.
In his many years of legal practice, he has provided legal advice on a number of important international transactions in the field of acquisitions, mergers and the restructuring of companies in various economic sectors (e.g. information technology, healthcare, logistics, metallurgy and mechanical engineering, etc.). His clients include major Czech and multinational companies.
In the field of competition, he provides legal advice to competitors in administrative proceedings before the European Commission and the Office for the Protection of Competition, especially in administrative proceedings relating to mergers of competitors and to the abuse of dominant market position.

Jan Krabec, a graduate of the Law Faculty of Charles University, is an attorney at law since 2010. In 2004 and 2005, he worked in the Prague office of the international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges v.o.s. Since 2005, he has been working for the law firm PELIKÁN KROFTA KOHOUTEK advokátní kancelář s.r.o. Jan Krabec has become a partner of the law firm in January 2014.
Jan Krabec focuses primarily on the private law and law of contracts, particularly on mergers and acquisitions, commercial law and intellectual property law. From 2008 to 2012, he also practised law systematically in public-private partnerships, including issues of European Structural Funds.
Presently, he focuses on M & A and Internet projects, providing comprehensive legal consulting with an emphasis on investment and exit strategy and on the protection of intellectual property rights.
In 2013, Jan Krabec has graduated from the Professional LL.M. Matěj Vácha is an attorney at law registered at the Czech Bar Association. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague. David Švec is an attorney at law registered at the Czech Bar Association. Kateřina Jansová is an attorney at law registered in the list of the Czech Bar Association. She graduated at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in 2008.

Tomáš Pelikán is an attorney at law registered at the Czech Bar Association. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Charles University (1998). In 1998-2005, he worked in the Prague office of the international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges, first as an articled clerk, and, on passing his bar exams with honors (in 2002), as an attorney at law.
In his practice, he specialises on a long term basis in company law, law of finance, civil and family law and litigation. Tomáš Pelikán came as the second based on an expert jury vote in the competition Lawyer of the Year 2005 of the epravo.cz company in the field of real estate.
In the field of company law, Tomáš Pelikán provided legal advice on a number of large mergers and acquisitions, including the privatization of large enterprises, purchase of companies from bankruptcy assets, company restructuring and other options of dealing with bankruptcy.
As the legal counsel, he engaged in numerous transactions in law of finance, including transactions involving the issue of bonds, public offers of foreign funds securities, takeover bids and other securities transactions. When providing legal services to leading banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms and insurance agents, he drew on his long experience in syndicated financing, insurance, industrial plants and other bank transactions and insurance instruments.
Moreover, Tomáš Pelikán deals with housing law and real estate law. David Krofta is an attorney at law registered at the Czech Bar Association. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague in the spring of 1998. After graduating, he worked for the law firm JANÁK & ZEITHAML & spol. In 2001, he passed his bar exam with honors and in 2002, he became a partner.
He focuses his legal practice primarily on company law, law of finance and civil law.
In company law, he specialises in law of contracts, corporate law and law of cooperatives. As a legal counsel, he participated in the implementation of a number of mergers and acquisitions, including the purchase of a company from bankruptcy assets.
David Krofta is also an expert in tax law and law of finance, as well as real estate law and investment law. He works closely on a long term basis with tax advisors and auditors, ensuring comprehensive protection of the client's interests with a regard to the economic aspects of a project and the project tax optimization. In addition, he has wide experience in the field of intellectual and industrial property rights, including copyright and trade mark law.
Mgr. Krofta has gained extensive experience also in civil litigation, where, apart from the regular agenda, he specialises in law of unfair competition.

Between 29 May and 30 May 2015 our law firm organized a regular meeting of world law firms associated in ELF (European Law Firm, http://www.european-law-firm.com). The meeting was held in a pleasant atmosphere of the President Hotel in the centre of Prague. The expert part of the conference focused in particular on the issues of planning cooperation among ELF members.
On 2 June 2015 our company will take part in the Czech-Armenian Business Forum with the delegation of Armenian entrepreneurs led by J.E. Hovik Abrahamyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. The event is organized by the Confederation of Industry the Czech Republic, Chamber for Commercial Relations with the Confederation of Independent States, Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.
After almost three years, our office managed to reach a significant victory in a complicated insolvency dispute related to shares of CB MERCURY CENTER a.s. (transport and business centre in České Budějovice). On 23rd November 2015, the High Court in Prague confirmed the judgment of the Regional Court in České Budějovice, according to which, 50% of the shares belong among the assets of Mr. Petr Touška.
David Krofta, partner of our law firm, appeared as advocate in the case with extensive media coverage when the former mayor of Prague 2 Municipal District was prosecuted for abuse of authority and breach of trust. On 14 May 2015, the Prague High Court ended the several-year proceedings by acquitting the two defendants.
Our law firm celebrated its 10th anniversary. We had been able to establish a stabile law firm and we believe we had accomplished a number of achievements and offered our services to many satisfied clients. Therefore we decided to organise a gala evening accompanied by the exhibition Mysterious Distances: Symbolism in Czech Lands 1880 – 1914 for our clients and business partners. The gala evening was held on 27 April 2015 with baroque music in the St. Agnes Monastery in Prague. It’s a great honour that most clients assisted to the event and we would like to thank them for their participation.
